(Long.115 25'E. Lat. 22° 46' N.) at 12.00 hrs. on 21.10.1941 bound for Hong Kong. Altogether there were 16 persons on board including myself and the two deceased, Tsui Yum and Kwek Chi Chiu.

On 22.10.1941 at 04.00 hrs. my junk was fishing about 1 mile

I saw a north of Tam Kontshan. (Leng. 114°19'E. Lat. 22°4' N.) Japanese trawler approaching from the east. The trawler was painted dark grey, one funnel, when the trawler was about 150 yards away the Japanese ⚫pened fire with a machine-gun. All on beard hid in the holds, and then the trawler shone a searchlight as it came closer.

I saw two I heard someone shouting and all the males went on deck. Japanese dressed in khaki uniform who tried to pass two ropes over to my junk. The two deceased went to the bow to try to catch held of the two ropes from the Japanese. The searchlight was still shining and I heard one shot and both the deceased who were standing close together fell to the deck. When I reached the two deceased both were dead, The trawler sailed away in what direction I did not take any netice. KwokipChi Chiu(deceased) was standing nearest the trawler. The shot entered the back of the neck and came out at the side of the right ear. 'suiYumi(deceased) who is my son was shot in the middle of the back with the same bullet.

We set sail and arrived at Aberdeen en 22.10.1941 at 07.30hrs. I reported at Aberdeen Police Station at 08.30 hrs. Later the two deceased were removed by the police launch to Kowloon Public Mortuary. I was taken to the water Police Station with three of my fokis.

I always operate my junk from Aberdeen and my fishing grounds are off San Mei. My catches I sell at Aberdeen. No Japanese boarded my junk when the attack took place. My junk is not armed. I could not see any number or name on the trawler.
